Adopt A Fireman Ministry
Christ Presbyterian Church introduces a brand new ministry, Adopt-A-Fireman Ministry, to bless and give something back to those who care for us. Our Goal: Christ Presbyterian Church is attempting to ensure that every fireman/EMT in Goodyear has someone from our church encouraging and praying for his or her protection - physically, emotionally and spiritually.
How can you help? Goodyear Fire/EMT personnel are still available to be assigned to church individuals or families who will agree to do the following:
Pray for their assigned Fireman/EMT and his/her family daily.
Send the Fireman/EMT a card of encouragement each month. Cards will be collected at the church (a basket will be provided) and will be delivered to the Fireman on the first Monday of each month by our church sponsor Pete Lamphere.
Understand that they are not to personally contact the Fireman/EMT or his/family unless the Fireman/EMT contacts them first and gives permission.
If they decide not to continue the commitment, they will notify Pete Lamphere, so that a new sponsor can be found and the prayer/encouragement will continue without interruption. It would also be helpful if assistance could be given in finding a replacement sponsor.
A similar program operated by another church in Goodyear has been in place for quite some time to support our local Goodyear Police personnel with prayer and cards.
This is such an easy but important way for Christ Presbyterian Church to make a positive and beneficial connection to our local community. Please consider getting involved. Cards can be purchased in boxed sets from a number of local discount shops and the prayers that will be offered will be priceless.
To sign up: A registration table will be located in the Atrium for the next few weeks. Pete Lamphere or another ministry representative will be available to sign you up and give you the name of your adopted Fireman.
Thank you for supporting this invaluable ministry to our community!
